To all of the girls...

I wrote this in 2023. I was reflecting that throughout my life, I've always received a message from when I was a child of being "too much." I was this child with lots of energy, lots of questions, super chatty, very fierce but a bit apprehensive. I was this deep thinker. An old soul in a young body. I'm not sure teachers knew how to best approach me. As I grew up I learned that all of these characteristics weren't negative but positive strengths that I used to become who I am today. I wrote this one early morning for all these young girls out there that feel different, keep being uniquely you. You are your own superpower!

To all the girls...
...Who were told you talk too much, keep
talking.
...Who were told you’re too opinionated, keep
speaking out.
...Who were told you’re too aggressive, keep
checking folks.
...Who were told you should be more passive,
keep being assertive.
...Who were told you’re too much, keep taking
up space.
...Who were told you’re too feisty, keep being
passionate.
We're told you’re too crazy, too extra, too
sensitive. Keep being you and surround
yourself with those who appreciate exactly who
you are!
